The Museum of Soho was formed in 1990 with the purpose of preserving the history of Soho. For 30 years the Soho Society has collected and saved material that forms part of Soho's story - from diaries and coffin plates to milk bottles.

The Museum is run by a group of enthusiastic volunteers, who share a commitment to Soho and bring a variety of expertise to the project. The Museum at present exists as an enormous and expanding stored collection of items of historical interest, photographs, printed matter, curios, artefacts, tape recordings and memorabilia. Although these are not on permanent display, the Museum frequently offers material for exhibitions elsewhere.

Currently, the Museum group cares for the collection; collects contemporary and historical material related to Soho; exhibits items from the collection in temporary displays, most recently 'Soho Blitz' in September 2000; and records the memories of Soho people as part of its Oral History Project.

If you have a skill or an idea which you think might help us; if you wish to make a donation, to help us in our acquisition programme; if you wish to donate an item from Soho's past or present; or if you wish to offer us your story for our Oral History Project - please get in touch.

Or we may be able to help you. If you are interested in a particular aspect of Soho's history, we may either be able to help or put you in touch with other sources of information. Contact us at The Museum of Soho, 55 Dean Street, London W1D 6AH or leave a message on 020 7439 4303 or contact us using our website's contact form with Museum as your heading.
