Willy Clarkson
1861 - 1934. Theatrical wig-maker lived and died here. Sarah Bernhardt and Henry Irving laid the foundation stone of the house built for him in 1905.

Thomas Sheraton
1751 - 1806. English designer of furniture. Influenced by Hepplewhite and Chippendale he was noted for his neo-classical designs and for his inlaid work. Wrote several books on cabinet-making.
