Chinese New Year Celebrations Sunday 29 January 2012

New Year Festival Organised and Presented by the London Chinatown Chinese Association www.thelondonchinatown.org.uk
- 10:15am: Parade starts from Duncannon Street, next to St. Martin In The Fields Church in Trafalgar Square, 10.15am led by a dragon, a float, open-top bus, 12 mascots and a dragon boat at the end, 300 people taking part.
- Parade goes along Charing Cross Road, turn left to Shaftesbury Avenue, dropping off the float and the bus. Parade turns into Rupert Street disbanding the troop, leaving the dragon, 12 mascots and colourful costumes to continue into Trafalgar Square at 11.40.
- Main Stage in Trafalgar Square: fire crackers at 12noon, celebration starts with speeches and eye dotting ceremony
- Variety performances until 5pm
- 17:00: Grand Finale, ends 18:00
- Dean Street Stage
12:00 noon: Lion Dance
Performances then start until 4pm, ends 16:30
- Marquees, stalls all over the area, Trafalgar Square, Chinatown and Shaftesbury Avenue
- After the parade, different acts in Charing Cross Road.
